This study examines the development of an improved methodological system for teaching football in higher education institutions based on a competency-based approach. In the context of modern educational transformation, the shift from knowledge-oriented instruction to competency-oriented learning has become a key factor in enhancing the effectiveness of sports education. The research analyzes the theoretical foundations of competency-based education in sports pedagogy, identifies the limitations of traditional football teaching methods, and proposes an integrative methodological model that combines technical, tactical, physical, and cognitive components of football training. The study employs experimental and statistical methods to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed system, demonstrating significant improvements in students’ technical skills, tactical thinking, and overall physical preparedness. The findings confirm that the competency-based methodological system enhances the quality of football education and contributes to the development of professional and personal competencies in students.
